TESTS FOR LAW

CLAT
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted for admission to India’s seven National Law Schools – NLSIU - Bangalore, NALSAR - Hyderabad, NLIU - Bhopal, NUJS - Kolkatta, NLU - Jodhpur, HNLU - Raipur, GNLU - Gandhinagar and three National Law Universities namely Chanakya National University - Patna, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia University - Lucknow and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law - Punjab for their undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law.

There shall be no negative marking and the students are required to mark their answers on OMR sheets using blue or black ballpoint pen.

Eligibility criteria:

For BA LLB (Hons ):

  • The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing an aggregate of not less than 50% in all the core subjects and English put together.
  • Must have completed 20 years of age by the month of joining

For LLM program:

  • Candidate must have completed LLB degree or an equivalent from a recognized university securing an aggregate of not less than 50% marks


Application Procedure:

Candidates have an option of applying online or offline.

Offline Registration:

Application forms can be purchased from designated branches of Corporation Bank and State Bank of India by a cash payment of 2000 INR.

Or

Application form can be requested through speed post or registered post by sending a request to The Convener, Common Law Admission Test, National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore –560242 along with a Demand Draft of 2000 INR drawn in favor of the Convener, CLAT and payable at Bangalore.

Or

Application form can be downloaded from www.clat.ac.in. However, in such case, a Demand Draft of 2000 INR drawn in favor of the Convener, CLAT and payable at Bangalore has to be sent along with the filled application form.

The candidates need to fill in the application form as per the guidelines provided, affix a recent passport size photograph and mail it accompanied by attested copies of educational certificates to a Demand Draft of 2000 INR drawn in favor of the Convener, CLAT and payable at Bangalore.

Online Registration:

The candidate can fill the online application form at www.clat.ac.in , take a print out of the application and send it to The Convener, Common Law Admission Test, National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore –560242 along with a Demand Draft of 2000 INR drawn in favor of the Convener, CLAT and payable at Bangalore and required certificates.

Final selection:

The selected candidates receive a letter of provisional admission to the Law School where they have been admitted from the CLAT Office. They are then required to report to the designated law school and complete the admission formalities by the deadline.
