TESTS FOR MEDICINE
India Pre Medical test (AIPMT), is a national level test conducted by CBSE
for admission to 15% seats for MBBS and BDS programs offered by various medical
colleges and universities run by Union or State government except the state of
Jammu and Kashmir.
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply
- The candidate must have
passed 10+2 system qualifying examination conducted by Central/State board and
secured at least an aggregate of 50% for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC
candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
- Completed core course in
English as prescribed by NCERT
- The candidate must complete 17 years of
age on or before December 31st of the year of admission

AIPMT consists of two parts – Preliminary Examination and Final Examination.
The Preliminary examination comprises of a single paper of duration 3 hours containing
200 objective type questions testing candidates on their knowledge in Physics,
Chemistry and Biology. Each question has four options and the candidates have
to mark their answers on OMR sheets using a ballpoint pen. Those who qualify the
Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Final Examination. The
test pattern for the Main Examination is as follows:

The candidates can obtain the AIPMT Information Bulletin
and Application Form costing 400 INR for general category candidates and 200 INR
for SC/ST/OBC candidates by cash payment from any of the designated Canara Bank
braches or regional offices of CBSE.
Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained by sending a written
request to the Deputy Secretary (AIPMT), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Center,
Preet Vihar, Delhi – 110092 along with a demand draft of 450 INR for General Category
/ 250 INR for SC/ST/OBC in favor of ‘Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education,
Delhi’ and a self addresses envelope of size 12" * 10".

Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (UP-CPMT) is conducted
by Lucknow University on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh for admission
to 1st year of Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS),
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery
(BHMS), Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani
Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) courses offered by government and recognized medical
colleges and universities.
The candidate has to fulfill the following eligibility criteria in order to
appear for the examination:
- he/she must be a citizen of India
must hold the domicile of Uttar Pradesh
- must meet the age eligibility
criteria as mentioned in the bulletin
- must have passed the intermediate
examination of the state board in Science Group (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology,
Botany) with English as one of subjects/ (10+2) or other equivalent examination
of some other recognized Board/University in U.P. with 50% average marks in the
Science subjects (for General category candidates) and 40% for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
BAMS Course Madhyama Examination Passed Students of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University,
Varanasi are eligible.
- For BUMS Course High School or equivalent Examination
Passed with Urdu.
- For MBBS/BDS Course, the eligibility conditions will
be as specified by the Medical Council of lndia
- The candidates appearing
in the qualifying examination in the year of entrance test are also eligible.
The examination comprises of two papers of 2 hours duration
each. The first paper tests the students on Zoology and Botany and the second
paper tests them on Chemistry and Physics.

Head Post Offices of Uttar Pradesh and two districts of Uttarakhand i.e. Nainital
and Dehradun and also at additional branches of Post Offices of districts Agra
(Sanjay Palace), Aligarh (AMU), Allahabad (Kutcheri & High Court), Bareilly
(Cantt), Gorakhpur (University), Jhansi (University), Kanpur (Cantt., University
and Nawabganj), Lucknow (GPO, Gomti Nagar, Chowk & Nirala Nagar), Meerut (Cantt.),
Varanasi (Cantt ) and New Delhi (GPO and Kalkaji HQ.) and can be purchased on
payment of 665 INR (365 INR for SC/ST candidates). The candidates are then required
to fill the form as per the given guidelines and submit in the form of OMR sheets

before the deadline.

. The successful candidates are then required to register themselves for the first
phase of counseling known as Off Campus Online Counseling by logging on to www.upcpmt.nic.in/offcampus
. Here they are required to create a log in ID and password and are then guided
through the stages to key in their choices of the courses and institutions according
the ranking received by them. They are also required to choose a counseling centre
for the 2nd phase of Counseling known as On Campus Online Counseling.
The second phase of admission counseling is further divided
into two parts held on two consecutive days. In the first part, the candidates
have to report at the designated counseling centre as per the time schedule. Candidates
are required to bring all certificates in original along with one set of
photocopies of each document and four copies of their photograph identical to
the one pasted on the application form. They are then required to get their documents
verified at the various Document Verification Counters set up by UPCPMT and thereafter
proceed to pay the security deposit of 5000 INR by a Demand Draft in favour of
Director General, Medical Education and Training, U.P., Lucknow payable at Lucknow.
The candidates exercise their final choices of seats on-line by using choice button
to indicate the choice of institution and course in order of their preference.
On the second day of Off Campus Online Counseling the list
of candidates who are allotted an institution along with course for admission
will be displayed on the website and the selected candidates are then required
to pay the college/institution fees.
Forces Medical College, Pune conducts an All India entrance exam for admission
to its four and a half years Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
program followed by one year of internship. A total of 13 students i.e. 105 boys
and 25 girls are admitted. Ten seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates. Students
and their parents/guardians are required to sign a bond at the time of admission
that they have compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed
Forces Medical Services.
A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS course is eligible to take the entrance
examination if he/she fulfills the following criteria:
- A candidate
should be a citizen of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of
Indian origin migrated from Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention
of permanently settling in India.
- Must be unmarried. Marrying during
the course is not permitted.
- Should be medically fit as per prescribed
standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence
- Must have attained
the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained
the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates
who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations)
must have passed all the subjects in first attempt of Intermediate/10+2 exam conducted
by Central or State Board and must have score 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry
and Biology taken together, not less than 50% in English and 50% in each of the
three science subjects
- Candidates must have passed in an examination of
Mathematics of 10th standard
The AFMC Entrance Examination is conducted at various cities
across India on first Sunday of May every year.

For each correct answer 1 mark is awarded and each

Advertisement for recruitment to the MBBS program of AFMC
is published in all leading Indian dailies in the month of December every year.
The candidates can purchase the prospectus and application form by making a cash
payment of 250 INR from General/Head/Central/Main Post Offices mentioned in the
advertisement. Prospectus and application forms can also be obtained by post from
Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Pune - 411040
on payment of Rs. 250/- per copy, only by Bank Draft on an nationalized bank payable
at Pune in favour of Commandant, AFMC, Pune, along with full postal address of
the candidate on two separate slips of paper (size 9cms x 5 cms.), an application
requesting for the prospectus, a self addressed envelope of 11" x 13" size with
a postage stamp of Rs. 55/- affixed.
The candidates are
then required to complete the application form, attach the necessary documents
and mail it to THE OFFICER-IN-CHARGE (ADMISSION CELL), ARMED FORCES MEDICAL COLLEGE,
PUNE - 411040 by the specified deadline.
On the basis of their performance in the written examination the candidates
are called for interview and medical examination at AFMC, Pune in the month of
June. They are required to produce all their original certificates/marks sheets
for verification. Based on the performance in interview and being declared fit
by Board of Officers at AFMC Pune in the medical examination, two merit lists,
one for boys and another for girls is drawn up in order of merit and letters of
admission are sent to the successful candidates.
India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India conducts an all India
level examination for entrance to its five and a half years Bachelor of Medicine
& Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. The examination is held every year on
1st of June. The total intake is 50 students per year. The seats are

110029 on payment of 500 INR (400 INR for SC/ST). The students can also order
the prospectus and application form by Speed post/Registered post by sending a
written request to the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India Institute
of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110 029 with an account payee bank
draft for 550 INR (450 INR for SC/ST) in favor of the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi
drawn on SBI, Service Branch (code No7687), New Delhi by the stated deadline.
The envelope should be superscribed "APPLICATION FORM FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
FOR ADMISSION TO M.B.B.S. COURSE". The candidates are required to complete the
application form and mail it to the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India
