GMAT

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT ) is a standardized test sponsored by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS) and is an admission requirement for business schools across the globe for their various business and management programs.

GMATâ measures the basic verbal, mathematical and analytical writing ability of the test taker. Conducted at various test centers across the globe, the test is designed to assess academic knowledge and skills essential for advanced management programs.

It is a computer adaptive test (CAT), the computer selects questions from a very large pool of questions categorized by content and difficulty. The test begins with posing questions of average difficulty and as per the response whether correct or incorrect adjusts the difficulty level to the competence of the candidate.

Scoring:

The Verbal and Quantitative scores range from 0 to 60. Total GMATâ scores range from 200-800 and the Analytical Writing section is graded on a scale of 0-6 in half- point increments.

Score reporting:

The verbal and quantitative scores are available immediately after completion of the test; however, the analytical writing scores are available on the score card which is mailed within 20 days of the test date. The registration fee includes sending official score reports to 5 business schools of your choice. For additional score reporting the candidate has to pay USD 28 for each business school.

Score Validity:

The GMATâ score is valid for 5 years from the date of the test.

Test Registration:

Registration for GMAT can be done online at www.mba.com using a credit card. The examination fee for GMATâ is 250US$ and the rescheduling fee is 50US$.
